Whitley Bay

Recommended Metro station: Monkseaton (1km) or Whitley Bay (1.1km)

Elevation: Mostly Flat, Short Steeper banks

Starting near the famous and newly redeveloped Spanish City, this 2-and-a-bit lap course moves between the promenade and the higher path a few times, with a short pavement section. There's plenty of places where the course loops back close to itself so you can see other points of the course. As you start up on the links and finish on the promenade, this one ends up being a slight downhill overall. Also bear in mind that the finish is a few hundred metres from the start if you plan on leaving any jackets or drinks bottles.

From Palmersville

Head right out of Palmersville, all the way to the roundabout, then turn right heading towards Asda. Find a safe spot to cross and then take the road on the left that loops around the Asda car park and follow it to the start area. Some GPS directions seem to think you can use Miller Close to cut the roundabout corner on foot but it seems to be fenced off these days.
